I’m happy to announce the launch of the official Mochi browser extension, now available for Chrome and Firefox.
You can connect the extension to your Mochi account using an API key, which can be generated from the Account Settings page in the Mochi app (available with a Mochi Pro subscription).
Once installed, the extension lets you:
- Create cards directly from the web.
Just select any text on a page, right-click, and choose “Create card in Mochi.” - Save entire pages.
You can convert the full page to Markdown and save it as a new card — perfect for articles or reference material. - Generate flashcards automatically with AI.
If you’d like, you can have Mochi analyze the current page and create a set of suggested flashcards for you.
This should make it much easier to capture things you read online and bring them into your study workflow.
New CSV Export Format
Alongside the browser extensions, Mochi now supports exporting decks in a CSV format.
There are two export options:
- Pre-rendered: Each card is rendered using its template, and the CSV file includes two columns — “Front” and “Back.”
- Not pre-rendered: Each field from the card’s template is exported as its own column.
There are a few limitations to keep in mind. All cards in the export must use the same template (or have no template at all).
Although Mochi can import CSV files, the CSV export is mainly intended for compatibility with Anki. For transferring data between different Mochi accounts or backups, the recommended format is still the native .mochi export type.
